An independent review platform for GLP-1 compounding pharmacies

Review Methodology

How we research providers, what we verify before publishing it, and what we refuse to publish at all.

How We Research GLP-1 Providers

This section covers our provider reviews, rankings and comparisons. It is a different process from the patient review collection described further down, and the two are never mixed.

Discovery

We identify providers programmatically, by running structured searches across the queries patients actually use — brand names, medication names, pricing questions and category terms — and extracting every company that appears. This surfaces providers that would not otherwise be on our radar, including manufacturer-direct pharmacies, employer-channel vendors, insurance appeal services and clinic networks. We then remove publishers, retailers and comparison sites, and deduplicate against what we already cover.

Verification

Every price, fee and policy on a provider page is taken from that company's own published pages, and each review lists the specific sources it was built from along with the date it was compiled. We do not repeat figures from other comparison sites, and we do not estimate.

Where a company does not publish something, we say so. A page reading "refund policy not stated" means exactly that — we looked and it was not there. That absence is itself useful information, and inventing a plausible answer would be worse than admitting the gap.

What we deliberately do not publish

  • No star ratings on provider reviews. We do not collect verified patient reviews for these providers, so we have no basis for a score. Publishing one would imply evidence we do not have.
  • No aggregate rating structured data is emitted on any provider page, for the same reason.
  • No patient testimonials we cannot verify. We do not write, commission or reconstruct patient quotes for provider reviews.
  • No invented contact details. If we cannot verify a phone number, email or website, the field is omitted rather than filled with a placeholder.

How rankings are decided

Because we do not score providers on patient sentiment, our rankings reflect published, checkable facts only:

  • Real monthly cost at a therapeutic dose, including any separate membership fee — not the advertised entry price
  • Whether pricing stays flat as you titrate, or escalates at each dose increase
  • Whether the company names its compounding pharmacy or manufacturer
  • Whether cancellation and refund terms are published in writing
  • Whether the medication is FDA-approved or compounded, and how clearly that is disclosed
  • Insurance, HSA/FSA handling, and the depth of included clinical care

Different pages weight these differently — a cheapest-programs ranking leads on cost, a compounded-provider ranking leads on pharmacy disclosure — and each ranking page states its own criteria at the top.

Freshness and corrections

Pricing in this category changes constantly, and regulation is changing with it. Every provider page and ranking carries the date it was last reviewed. Treat anything older than a few months as a starting point and confirm current terms with the provider before purchasing. If you find something out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

Commercial relationships

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links and we may earn a commission. That has no bearing on whether a provider is included, what its review says, or where it ranks — several providers we rank highly have no commercial relationship with us at all, and some pages recommend buying direct from a manufacturer instead. See our affiliate disclosure.

Patient Review Collection

This section applies to patient reviews of compounding pharmacies. It does not apply to the provider reviews described above, which carry no star ratings and no patient testimonials.

Reviews are submitted directly by patients through our platform. We collect reviews in the following ways:

  • Direct submission: Patients can submit reviews through our website at any time.
  • Email invitations: We partner with pharmacies to send post-purchase review invitations to their customers.
  • Follow-up requests: We may send reminder emails to reviewers asking for updates on their experience.

We do not accept reviews from pharmacy employees, paid reviewers, or anyone with a financial interest in the pharmacy being reviewed.

Verification Process

All reviews go through our verification process before being published:

Email Verification

All reviewers must verify their email address before their review is published.

Fraud Detection

We use automated systems to detect suspicious patterns and potentially fake reviews.

Content Moderation

Reviews are checked for inappropriate content, personal information, and policy violations.

Purchase Verification

When possible, we verify that reviewers actually purchased from the pharmacy they're reviewing.

Reviews marked as "Verified Purchase" have been confirmed through order verification with the pharmacy.

Rating Calculation

Each pharmacy's overall rating is calculated as a weighted average of all verified reviews:

  • Base calculation: Simple average of all review ratings.
  • Recency weighting: More recent reviews carry slightly more weight to reflect current service quality.
  • Minimum threshold: Pharmacies need at least 5 reviews before displaying a rating.

We do not allow pharmacies to pay for higher ratings or better placement. Rankings are based solely on patient reviews and objective criteria.

Pharmacy Verification

Pharmacies on our platform are verified against the following criteria:

  • Valid state pharmacy license in good standing
  • No significant disciplinary actions or sanctions
  • DEA registration for controlled substance handling
  • Appropriate facilities for sterile compounding

Pharmacies with the "Verified" badge have provided documentation confirming their credentials. However, this badge does not constitute an endorsement of their products or services.

Dispute Resolution

We take review accuracy seriously. Here's how we handle disputes:

  • Pharmacy response: Pharmacies can respond publicly to reviews to provide their perspective.
  • Flagging system: Users can flag reviews they believe violate our policies.
  • Investigation: Disputed reviews are investigated by our team and may be removed if found to violate our policies.
  • Appeals: Both reviewers and pharmacies can appeal decisions through our contact form.
